Welcome to BirdLife Zimbabwe

BirdLife Zimbabwe’s promotes the survival of bird life in Zimbabwe and elsewhere for the enjoyment of future generations.  We are a Private Voluntary Organization, with more than 400 members.

Our major objectives are to conserve birds and their habitats, to increase awareness of birds through education and training and to use and develop a proven and professional base for the research and study of birds and their habitats.

BirdLife Zimbabwe National Office staff work in close association with national and local government authorities and local communities in Important Bird Areas (IBAs) and at other sites in order to conserve threatened bird species and their habitats.

BirdLife Zimbabwe has been a Full Partner of BirdLife International (BLI) since 2002. BLI is a global partnership of over 100 Non-Governmental Organizations that have a common interest in the conservation of birds, their habitats and biodiversity.  BirdLife Zimbabwe shares BLI’s ideas and values and participates in its strategies and programmes. Our UK partner, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) assists us with funding of core activities.
